As a result of the success of Tammey’s previous intervention in Oman in 2018, in which we developed the Guidebook for Youth-led Initiatives, we were invited again in 2022 to develop this new guidebook for Young Volunteers.
The designated team in the ministry were determined to produce a quality guidebook that becomes a practical reference for young volunteers in the sultanate. After detailed discussions, we reached the conclusion that the intended guidebook was mainly for young volunteers who are in their early steps in the volunteering journey, but more seniored volunteers should also find it useful in their journey.
They wanted a guidebook that is as practical, interactive and youthfu, and we were determined to do that in a way that reflects Oman’s culture and unique volunteering ecosystem.
To achieve that, we invited two Omani specialists to work as part of our team in this mission:
General Supervisor for the Omani Network for Volunteers (Taawon) Helped us in the research and validation of our cultural insights.
Designer & Volunteer
Was responsible for the design of the guidebook in its final form
In addition to that, we created an advisory group of volunteers selected by the ministry’s team to accompany us in every stage of development with insights and feedback.
Shortly after the approval of the guidebook, the ministry organized the Volunteerism Forum for all Arab Gulf countries. During the forum, the guidebook was presented and discussed in cooperation with our associate from Oman Abdullah Al-Mujaini. Below is a video snippet from the forum.
The full version of the guidebook is available in Arabic for free in our Library under this link.
